Engine engine number 9, on the New York Transit Line

6 months since I said I was going to restart the site, and now I'm maybe almost to the point about thinking about getting things started again. Trying to run 5 sites at once is tough.

Anyways, this is just a check up to say hi to everyone still visiting the site, and make sure everyone knows Doctor Popular's new site is up and running. Let him provide you with entertainment while I get my crap together over here.

KT will rise up and kick ass soon. Mark my words.

I'm not sleepy, I'm just resting my eyes.

Boo.

Yup, I'm still alive.

Scary, no?

The past few days have driven me to make this post. I've been putting it off forever, though I have no clue why. I'm just lazy like that.

The first thing was little Davey Cappuro friending me on tribe.net. I haven't heard from anyone in the yoyo scene in a while, though that's probably completely my fault, what with the job that keeps me playing with robots instead of yoyos all day. I realized that I really missed a lot of people (Doc Pop, Rick/The old KC people, Greg, etc...), and I should really start picking up my yoyos more, esp. with my stress level now. I've been hittin' the kites pretty hard, but that requires a drive to the lake, a good wind, and a lot of money. Yoyos were always a nice "OMG NOW" thing.

I also started looking at other yoyo sites. I'm really surprised no one has adapted, or hell, directly stolen my idea. I figured in the past two years someone would've gotten sick of me not touching this site, and done something similar. But nope, I'm still the only trick search engine I know of out there. It sounds like http://www.yoyodb.com/ may be putting up a trick search (it'd be awesome to have a nice updated trick search, I totally wish him the best), but no one has the yoyo FSM idea that I had but never really exposed. So, after 2 years of totally ignoring the yoyo scene, I still remain king.

I r0x0rz.

Right now, I'm overhauling all my websites. Knot Theory is on the list for a redo. Here's what I'm planning:

Complete recode of the search engine from the ground up, because I'm much smarter than I was 2 years ago, and now have usage data.

Fixing up the graphics on the site, 'cause really, this thing looks horrible. That menu up there? All the display math is done manually by PHP on every page load. Since this page was first put up, CSS has come of age (even though it was still pretty good back then I was just stubborn), and will make things much quicker/prettier.

More cowbell

More celebrity apperances, just because I CAN

Stippers. And balloons for the kids. Which means we're gonna have to have a LOT of balloons.

Basically, this is gonna be the best site ever. EVAR.

I just gotta start on it.

In closing, thanks to everyone who still visits and uses the site. I noticed that I'm still averaging at least 1000 unique visits per month, which is great. I hope people still get value out of this place even though it's in shambles at the moment. :)
